Welcome to the NEW My Crazy Adoption blog. The new site is designed specifically to help you explore the joys and craziness of mommyhood, read news about adoption, share humanitarian projects for orphan care, inspire you to find your mission, and celebrate life in a radical way. I want this to be an inspiring place you can visit and engage as a reader to grow as moms with a purpose to be world changers. I have loved sharing my stories, photos, memories, family, and life with you. I’m so excited to have a brand new look and room to grow as a blogger. The best part of blogging for me has been the friendships I’ve made over the past six years. I want to personally thank my friend, Andrea La Valleur for transforming something old into something new and modern. You poured hours and hours into curating the blog, and I can’t thank you enough! The best part, Andrea was the winner of the Simply Love mission trip giveaway and spent the past ten days with our family in Nicaragua.
This past month has been our best days here in Nicaragua. We got a car! A wonderful missionary family went on furlough and gave us their car to use. The best part, it seats 9 and we can stuff our friends inside to serve and explore Nicaragua. Their generosity has allowed us the freedom and independence to make great family memories on the field! God knew exactly what we needed to finish well on our mission adventure. We also found the perfect beach getaway at Milagros del Mar for our days off. We have loved swimming in the pool and playing in the ocean! (Thank you Roger and Carolyn Keeling)
I can’t believe we are on the final countdown to saying goodbye to Nicaragua. We have seven days left to spend time with the ministries and people we love. I don’t know how it will be possible to say goodbye to the precious children at New Life Nicaragua orphanage. Tim and Chris Bagwell, you opened up your hearts to our family and allowed us the honor of spending time every day at your minsitry playing, hugging, cuddling, feeding, and bonding. We have loved our time serving the village of Mateare, Furia Santa, Women’s Cancer Hospital, and hosting the mission teams building homes, relationships and making a difference. Roger and I have loved supporting and encouraging mission-hearted teams to serve and love big as hosts. We adore the Nicaraguan staff at Project Hope and cherish the memories of living in Casa #2 for the past five months.
What’s next for the Gibson family? We are moving to Springfield, MO for our next adventure! God has provided ALL our needs, made our mission dreams come true, and created new passions in our hearts this year! (I will be sharing in a future post the details of what we will be doing. The best is yet to come!) Hannah will be in 11th grade and Zoie starts Kindergarten, both girls are looking forward to reuniting with their friends. Our son, Michael will attend Westmont College in Santa Barbara in the fall. Thank you for praying fervently for our family and supporting, cheering, and joining us in Ethiopia, Haiti, and Nicaragua. We are ALL called to Simply Love. “If you aren’t willing to step out of the boat, you’ll never walk on water. If you aren’t willing to circle the city, the wall will never fall. And if you aren’t willing to follow the star, you’ll miss out on the greatest ADVENTURE of your life. In order to experience a miracle, you have to take a risk.” – Mark Batterson
